At present, its stock consists of some 3,500 items and it is open from 08:30 AM - 03:45 PM for Zewail City members.

• Holdings: If a book you need is currently checked out  you can ask the Librarian to place a hold and to be notified when the book is returned, so you can visit the library to check it out during 2 days or your hold will be cancelled.
• Document Delivery Service: The Document Delivery Service exists to obtain articles, thesis, reports or chapters from books, which are needed for research but not found in the Zewail Library Catalogue or any of the Zewail, subscribed full text databases.

Text Matching Software:

The University community has free access to two different web-based originality-checking tools geared to helping ZC members avoid plagiarism. Below is a brief overview of each and how best to use them.

Turnitin and iThenticate require submissions to be made by the sole or first-author of the work. They are not intended for use by second-party individuals to check originality.

• Turnitin: made specifically for classroom use and is intended for reviewing student work. Similar to Blackboard’s Safe Assign service, and can be integrated into Canvas courses and allows instructors to review originality reports of student work. It compares student work against 60 billion web pages; 600 million student papers that have been submitted to the Turnitin database; over 100 million articles from professional journals, periodicals, and publications. Submitted documents are added to a database of material from colleges and universities around the country.

Note: An instructor must first have the line manager's approval before creating an account.

• iThenticate is meant to assist academics, students and researchers in avoiding plagiarism and copyright infringement when preparing papers for publishing and it is NOT intended for classroom use. This program is often used by publishers to check the originality of submitted articles prior to publishing. Papers reviewed using this service are NOT added to or indexed in any other database and remain the proprietary property of the individual author.

Hall 1

• Location: This hall is located on the first floor, Room No: F013, Academic Building.
• Collection: Includes Prof. Ahmed Zewail personal library and a collection of Arabic books.
• library Capacity: 63 users.
• Library Furniture: include one Counter, 7 desks for users, 12 desks for computers, 36 Lockers for user’s luggage, single and double couch.
• Library Space: 350 m
• IT facilities: The hall provides 12 computer desktop, Wi-Fi services (this service is only available for students and Faculty & staff with ZC accounts)

Hall 2

• Location: This hall is located on the first floor, Room No: F055, Academic Building.
• Collection: Include books in all academic disciplines that supports all areas of research and teaching at Zewail City.
• Library Capacity: 105 users.
• Library Furniture: include one Counter, 12 desks, one desk for staff, 36 Lockers for user’s luggage, single and double couch.
• Library Space: 350 m
• IT facilities: The hall provides Wi-Fi services.
• RFID solution (Self-checkout- RFID gate- Drop Books).

Library ventilation and air-conditioning

The two library halls have ventilation and air-conditioning properly ventilated areas. Proper air-conditioning and ventilation are an important aspect of both reading rooms, where many visitors read, study or use computers, and library halls, where paper slowly acquires its aroma.
