Zewail City Signs a Cooperation Protocol with Egypt’s Ministry of Environment

A cooperation protocol was signed between Egypt’s Ministry of Environment and Zewail City of Science, Technology, and Innovation in the presence of Dr. Yasmine Fouad, Minister of Environment, and Dr. Mahmoud Abdrabou, Acting Executive President of Zewail City. Attendees of the protocol signing event included Dr. Mostafa Badawy, Director of Zewail City’s Valley of Science and Technology; Dr. Ali Saad Abu Sunna, Head of the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency; and Dr. Tariq Muhammad Al-Arabi, Head of the Waste Management Regulatory Agency.
The protocol paves the way for Zewail City’s Sustainable Development Center to work in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment to prepare environmental awareness programs at the national level, provide consulting services in various environmental fields, conduct research, create job opportunities in the environmental services sector, as well as develop capabilities and improve the competency of personnel in the sector.
The joint cooperation with the Ministry of Environment reflects the pivotal role Zewail City has come to play. The City is now working with various state agencies with the aim of contributing to the development of Egyptian society through the application of technology and scientific research.
