Zewail City Professor Receives a Research Grant from ASRT within the Green Fund Program

Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Mahmoud Saqr, President of the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology (ASRT), and Prof. Walaa Shatta, Executive President of the Science, Technology and Innovation Funding Authority (STDF), and with the participation of Prof. Mahmoud Mohieldin, the climate pioneer for the Egyptian presidency of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention COP27 and the United Nations Special Envoy for Financing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, to hand over contracts to support 67 projects, with a total funding of EGP 106 million, of which included the project of Prof. Elsayed Hemayed, Director of the Communications and Information Engineering Program in Zewail City, that entitled “AI-Based Decision Support System Using Mobile Crop Monitoring Module” which aims to provide decision makers and farm managers with a dashboard to monitor the conditions of crops and fields through multispectral sensors and an artificial intelligence (AI) model to be published On a trailer-mounted integrated GPU to monitor crop conditions and detect crop diseases. It is worth mentioning that this project is in line with the overall perspective and call of the COP27.
