Zewail City research study highlighted in Nature Middle East

A new study published in Molecular Nutrition and Food Research by Dr. Sameh Ali, Director of the Center for Aging and Associated Diseases, has been highlighted by Nature Middle East (NME).

The study, titled “Epicatechin regulation of mitochondrial structure and function is opioid receptor dependent”, discusses how low doses of epicatechin, a nutrient found in dark chocolate, induces beneficial metabolic and structural changes in the mitochondria of heart cells.
