Zewail City professors participate in 2014 Materials Research Society Spring Meeting & Exhibition


Dr. Ibrahim El-Sherbiny and Dr. Mohamed Al-Kordi, codirectors of the Center for Material Sciences (CMS), represented Zewail City at the 2014 Materials Research Society (MRS) Spring Meeting & Exhibition. The meeting was held in San Francisco, California from April 21 to 25.

At the conference, El-Sherbiny presented his recent research titled Polymeric Nano-in-Microparticles as Smart Carrier Systems for Controlled Delivery of Ciprofloxacin in the Lung. This work was nominated for the best poster reward at the conference.

Alkordi gave a talk on his latest research titled Porous Organic Polymers for Catalytic Applications, CO2 Capture and Conversion.”

The MRS was founded in 1973 and it now consists of over 16,000 members from about 70 different countries. This interdisciplinary society encourages communication and technical information exchange across the various fields of science affecting materials. Its annual meeting is considered one of the most important scientific meetings in the field of materials science and its applications.
