Zewail City hosts First Annual Biomedical Sciences Symposium

Zewail City of Science and Technology will be hosting the First Annual Biomedical Sciences Symposium in cooperation with Al-Razi Society for Self Development (ASSD) on 1-2 April 2013. The symposium will be held at the City’s Campus in Sheikh Zayed District, 6th of October City.

The conference aims to enhance the research skills of undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students to better prepare them for both local and international science careers.

Dr. Nagwa El-Badri, chair of the Biomedical Sciences Program, and Dr. Sameh Ali, director of the Center for Aging and Associated Diseases will co-chair the conference, which will include a number of talks delivered by Zewail City scientists. The conference will also include a session in which students from ASSD will discuss a number of research proposals.

During the conference, a wide range of topics will be covered including, the scientific knowledge and tools required for successful research projects; strategies on how to apply for and succeed in obtaining and sustaining research funding; preparing for careers in academia or the medical industry; and engaging in interdisciplinary projects and building community partnerships to enhance research outcomes .
