Center for Strategic Studies

As part of its national service, Zewail City of Science and Technology will include a Center for Strategic Studies of large-scale national projects and the assessment of the benefits and risks involved. A study group of local and international experts will be involved in each case to provide highly professional scientific analyses. Examples include case studies on national education, illiteracy eradication, road and rail transportation, desert development, and the future of water and energy supplies.

The country and the region as a whole face numerous risks, and therefore, studies are needed on topics such as the acquisition of nuclear energy for peaceful applications, the effect of nuclear disasters, spread of viral diseases, water scarcity, and the erosion of the Delta region. Reports will be made available to policymakers through contractual agreements and deliberate strategies.
